Description of the artwork

Silver weight : 1500g
Total weight : 5584g

"Like medieval naves, this rich craft serves as a table centerpiece. On a high circular foot of silver and cloisonné sodalite, its hull with cloisonné sodalite strakes carries a roof shaped like a small chapel with a red jasper roof and windows and portals of silvered iron pyrite and rock crystal. A gull with sodalite wings is perched on its ridge. On the silver mast with carnelian flame, a hinged yard is rigged, with mother-of-pearl and rock-crystal sails hanging in four festoons. Sitting at the bow is a small figure wearing a toque (papakha), belted kaftan and pulley boots." Jacques Santrot
